Rodeo Weekend Bliss

So we made it through another awesome week of Rodeo Days, next to Christmas it's definitely my favorite time of year! As you saw on my last post, we attended the big BBQ in the park earlier in the week, and then Saturday we all woke up bright and early to run the annual Rodeo Days 5k. Blake and I beat our time by 4 minutes this year so I was pretty excited about that. Blake could have smoked me truth be told, but he insisted on staying by my side. Guess that's what a good husband does =) I told him if he wanted we could hold hands the whole way, but he said no. Dangit. So after the big race we all went home and gussied up for the big parade. I swear it gets longer and longer every year. But it was fun to see everyone at the Gordon's house, it's always the same old crew there! After a nice long nap and a little bit of shopping, we all headed out to the big Saturday night rodeo. No rodeo queens fell off their horses so that was a little disappointing, and not one cowboy stayed on a bull for 8 seconds, but other than that it was the usual party. See below for all our pics! We ended the big weekend with an awesome BBQ at my Uncle Steve and Aunt Sandy's, it's been a long time since all of us have been together so it was great to relax and enjoy each others company!

Here's the 5k party! Saturday Night Rodeo!Jen and I had a photo shoot at the Rodeo,
we call this one seductive. This is the botox face. The I need to use the bathroom face. After all the Saturday festivities, we ended the fun filled weekend with an awesome BBQ at the Pugh's! We had a great time eating burgers and dogs, and making smores for dessert. It was great to visit with everyone and relax in some finally decent weather!

The End!

Dance Commander

Last night we made our way to Wines Park in Lehi for the annual Rodeo Days BBQ in the Park. It was so dang hot, but super fun! We had a great time running into tons of old friends. Luckily we found some sort-of-shade to keep the baby under and Jax ran all over the park like it was heaven. But it wasn't heaven, because that meant we had to follow him all over the park. However, about midway through the night a band started to play and Jax decided to get busy with it. I think it's very clear that Jenny has taught him how to dance, I remember seeing a lot of these moves during Lehi Drill Team performances. Notice he chose to perfect his moves right in front of an elderly couple, far far away from his own family. Enjoy my friends. Oh and tilt your head a little to the left. My apologies.

Signed up wooooo.

So it's official, today I signed Blake and I up for the big Rodeo Days 5k which is this Saturday morning. It's sort of tradition now. The first year Keisha drug me to it pretty much unwillingly. Then last year Blake and I, along with Jen and Mandy, ran it once again. I figure 20 bucks for a sweet rodeo days shirt, and a little torture, who doesn't want to sign up for that? I have been running quite a bit lately, thanks to my wonderful work schedule, so at least I feel somewhat prepared. The last 2 years I have woke up the morning of and said, sure why not. Popped a candy bar in my mouth on the way to the Legacy Center and off I went. But hey, just because I have somewhat prepared this year, doesn't mean I'm going to run it any faster people. I don't run fast. The lengthy 5 feet 11 inches of me doesn't have a fast speed. It's more of a make-it-to-the-end-without-dying speed. That's as far as I go. As long as I beat a few choice people from highschool, names will be withheld for my sake, I'm a happy camper. ;) So pictures to come my friends. For those of you who don't know, Lehi Rodeo Days are the bomb.com. We have tons of family around for it, and who doesn't like to eat 12 rodeo hamburgers every year. In one sitting. That's also a tradition, among the real men of course, who can eat the most burgers without barfing. Anywho, for any of you attending the rodeo days events, I'll see ya there! And for the rest of you, enjoy your boring mundane lives.

And remember folks...

Just because you are running a 5k doesnt mean you need to wear nut huggers.

Hearts and Bums.

A WOMAN’S POEM: Before I lay me down to sleep, I pray for a man who’s not a creep, One who’s handsome, smart and strong. One who loves to listen long, One who thinks before he speaks, One who’ll call, not wait for weeks. I pray he’s rich and self-employed, And when I spend, won’t be annoyed. Pull out my chair and hold my hand. Massage my feet and help me stand. Oh send a king to make me queen. A man who loves to cook and clean. I pray this man will love no other. And relish visits with my mother.
A MAN’S POEM: I pray for a deaf-mute gymnast nymphomaniac with big boobs who owns a bar on a golf course, and loves to send me fishing and drinking. This doesn’t rhyme and I don’t care.
I quite enjoyed these two poems. But dont think for a second my husband falls into the Man's Poem nonsense. Except for possibly the boobs and fishing parts.
My husband is quite amazing. I come home to a clean house, laundry done, etc on a regular basis. Before summer time I had to tell him to stop doing it because I felt like less of a woman everytime he did. Sort of. I had to pretend at least.
But really my husband is a one of a kind, so I had to give him a shout out today. This summer he is working five 12 hour days, which makes for a long week. But he never complains, I always hear wilde stories about his day, but never complaints. My only request is that he stops harassing the old man that he is forced to work with on occasion at Kennecott. The old man was saying there is no river or lake here in Utah that can produce a 10 inch fish. Blake refuted that statement by saying "BS old man, I catch 10 inches everytime I go to the bathroom."
Thank you Blake, good thing the man is senile and has no idea what you are talking about.
All I can say is I sure am thankful my husband has a sense of humor. Living with me, he uses it quite often =)
I love you Blake!
You have a good heart and a dang nice bum.

Blah.

Well it's a lovely Tuesday and I have nothing exciting to report. We did have a busy weekend with Blake's cousin Ellyce's wedding. It was great to be with them in the Temple and to celebrate their big day. We were quite busy helping with everything so I didn't manage to get many pictures! But as soon as I get them uploaded, I will post some of them. We also got to have Blake's parents stay with us the night before the wedding ,so that was a fun time. We ventured out to Cafe Rio and Downtown Philly Cheesesteak (for Blake) for some yummy dinner and ended the evening watching Paul Blart Mall Cop. Haha that's a classic show if you haven't seen it. I can turn it off after the first 10 minutes because I think that's the funniest part, but hey it's a good time even if you watch the whole thing.
We also celebrated Jen's birthday on Sunday! She is the big 2-9. Sheesh, it seems like just yesterday her and I were sitting in our bedroom together saying "When I am 16 you are going to be 20!" Yah, time flies folks. Before we know it we will be old and gray. Guess we better enjoy our lively young spry bodies while we can. Just yesterday I told Blake that I can feel the old oozing through me. I need to enter a tennis tournament. I think the will to kill someone in a match can bring me back to my youth. Or at least remind me how to swear. And act un-sportsmanlike. So there ya have it, Em's weekend update. This week we are having our CVE Golf Tournament so at least it's another 4 day work-week for me. As for Blake, another week of five 12's. Heaven help him, I think he is ready to go back to school. 21 credit hours doesn't seem so bad now. I think it's time I sit back and enjoy our busy lives, before I know it I will have 12 kids and crafty long fingernails that coordinate with every holiday.
Happy Tuesday.
Oh. I just realized I have something sensible to blog about. Jenny just got pictures taken of her family by our good friend Cherise and they turned out adorable! Here are a few of my favorites:

The Weekend.

I have yet to update everyone on our Wilde weekend, and here we are almost to the next weekend. Sorry folks, I need to get with the program. Blake and I had a sweet time at the Il Divo concert. While it may not be music that you would want to listen to ALL the time, you just don't hear voices like that every day... wow those guys can sing! We left a little early to beat the crowd on the way out, but the couple hours that we were there was a great time! I think the outfits that Il Divo wore cost more than my college education. And I felt really bad for the poor lady on crutches who fell flat on her head while we were at will call (true story, Blake ran over and helped her, made me wanna cry) but other than that a real sweeeet time my friends.
And here is Blake being happy in the Suite.

Next on our list of things to do last weekend was the Air Show at HAFB. It was a rockin' good time, as always! We spent the majority of the day Saturday in a big crowd, but it was really nice weather, so who couldnt be happier? Except for Blake maybe, dang those crowds. But we made the best of it and got our sweet tannidge on (ya know, we got a tan). Many thanks to the sun from my pasty white limbs. Here's the pics!

An evening with......

Il Divo
Yesterday I received a call from a friend at work asking if I knew who Il Divo was? What an odd question was my first thought.
"Yes of course..." was my reply.
The next thing I know I have two free tickets to their concert tonight in our work suite at Energy Solutions. I'm soooo excited! Blake has no idea who these guys are, and my only hope is that free food will be served which will be his entertainment. But I love their beautiful music, it's so romantical! That is a word.
Have a great weekend everyone!
P.S. Tomorrow is the Air show @ HAFB, if you have never been you MUST go! The Blue Angels will be there, it's going to be a kick-A weekend folks!

Hap-Hap-Happppy Beuford!! I mean Birthday!

I have been waiting for the perfect time to unveil this video. I think since today is my Mom's Birthday, it's the perfect occasion. Plus, she will love me for doing so. Really, she should be thanking me for posting this. Not many people get live footage showing how young and spry they still are. This is 20 seconds of bliss to a woman who is turning 35ish today. So
Happy 35th-ish Mom!
No need to thank me for keeping you so young ;) Love you!

She can hula hoop with the best of them, thank the heavens for Wii Fit.

The better half of the Weekend.

Blake and I decided to escape to the mountains for a few hours on Saturday. We ended up in Little Cottonwood Canyon for a little BBQ. It was great weather up there and so so pretty! Although driving a Mazda into the mountains isn't exactly Blake's idea of an Outdoor Adventure, I still convinced him to have a good time. And Silver Sanchez (our car of course) could not have been happier either. The run off from all of the snow was insane, the river actually split and water was running right through the trees. I thought maybe Blake and I could reenact a scene from Twilight but he said No. So I just pretended in my head. It's a shame the weekends have to come to an end!
