Weekend Fiesta

This weekend we had lots of fun things to look forward to... which was a nice change since our Summer has started off a bit slow due to crap weather!!
Sorry I had a moment.
On Friday, my work hooked us up with Cirque De Soleil tickets, so we headed off to the E Center for a rockin' good time. It wasn't quite the massive production that I have heard Vegas puts on, but it was still AMAZING to see. The contortionists and flying/flipping jumper stick guys were unbelieveable, and definitely my favorite part of the show. They didn't allow cameras inside so I got zero pictures, but just believe me, it was spectaculaaaah.
After the big show Blake and I went to our favorite new dining spot, The Thai House. There is one located on Lehi Main Street, but we just found out that a 2nd location opened up on 123rd right off I-15. So we headed there and had the delicious curry that we have grown to looooove. FYI if you go there, order the Massaman Curry and the Pineapple Curry and share it. Mmmm delicioso and tons of food! We always have enough leftovers for another meal, which works out nicely.
Saturday Blake took off to Flaming Gorge for a day of fishing with his friend Adam. Adam was concerned that their pictures may not "make our blog" so this is for you Adam. They are such manly bulging men aren't they?
I think they like to hold hands on occasion, just sayin'.

While Blake spent his time in a freezing cold river, I spent my day getting waffles downtown with the fam and shopping around Gateway. The weather held out quite nicely, it sprinkled on occasion but didn't downpour like we anticipated. After Gateway my parents took me on quite the journey to the Harley Davidson store, Paradise Bakery for Lunch, Southtown Mall for more shopping, and finally to Costco. Where we watched my Dad taste test everything in sight. It ended up being a super fun day, and even though I missed Blake it was fun to hang out with the parentals like old times!

Today it is snowing. That's all that really needs to be said. What a nice surprise on a Monday. Tonight I am hoping to get my mullet chopped, and Blake is starting his P90X nonsense. So as I always say...... let the fun begin!

Sunday BBQ & Logan's Bday!

Yesterday we celebrated my nephew Logan's 1st Birthday!!!!
It was super fun having all of the families together for ice cream and cake. And even though it was a little windy, it was nice to sit outside for most of the evening and relax with everyone!
Logan got lots of new clothes, a sweet red wagon to be pulled in, dinosaurs galore, and a walker that he can push around since he is now walking like a pro.
I think he was pretty happy about all his new toys!
We also had a sweet BBQ with Brandon & Talisia this weekend, and went to a Bees game with one of Blake's schoolmates and his wife. I didn't get many pictures of anything but hope you enjoy. Let us pray that the sun returns quickly! I need more Bees games!

Us at the Bees game, we love sitting on the lawn now and basking in the sun!

Talisia, me and Jen enjoying our BBQ on Sunday!
Blake and I at Yoshis before Logan's big party....mmmm Sushi.
Logey opening his presents!
Jax loves chocolate milk, can you tell? Blake playing with his sword. Get your mind out of the gutter. He thinks he is Peter Pan.
These are Logey's awesome friends Tommy & Baby K. He invited them to his b-day party. They partied so hard they pooped their pants, it was ahhhhhwesome.
The crew relaxing outside!
And the cutest birthday boy I have ever seen in my life!
Love you Yogey! Happy 1st!

Pics from the Concert Extravaganza.

Here are a few pics that I took of us Friday night. We ended up getting to go into the Venue at 5:30 and watched the stage setup and the band warmup. There were 6 of us who got let in early, it was super fun seeing how everything goes down with the stage! Lots and lots of work, that's for sure! The band was super cool, they played a few songs for us and then came down from the stage and chatted and signed some things for us. Blake and I had nothing clever to say, which was quite unlike us! Man, I thought I could come up with something but it was pretty much a "Hi, you guys are great, thanks for doing this!" And that was it! Boooo us.
Here is Blake standing by the stage before Flogging Molly came out to warm up for us.
The BandThe Bass Player. After one of their songs I wasnt sure how to react appropriately so I just started clapping super loud, he looked at me and said "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" I was scared, then he busted up laughing and I peed a little.
The lead singer, the one with the Irish accent. Oh I loved listening to him say words, like microphone. I wanted to give him whiskey. I heard he likes it.
We made our way to the second level before the concert started. I knew with how the last concert went, that I wanted to stay as far away from the crowd as possible. Good move, because I have never in my life seen such a crazy crowd! holy canoly.
See, they were nuts. That many people crammed together, and they werent just standing there, they were all moshing and punching, and probably doing drugs. Yiiikes.
Here we are, the happy concert goers. I think that will be my last
crazy concert. At my age I'm looking forward to the saved seat, sit the whole time, don't kill others, concerts. Yah that's more my style.
The End.

Top uh the Marnin to Yuh.

So tonight Blake and I are attending the Flogging Molly Concert at the Venue in Salt Lake. Blake loves this band and he quite conveniently won tickets to their concert off of X96 radio. I am the lucky one who gets to go with him, I know one of their songs. It's from PS I Love You, obviously.
To make it more fun, we got a call last night from a gentleman from X96, telling us that we got put in for a drawing for backstage passes, and much to my nonamazement, Blake won.
He wins everything.
I'm not just saying that to be nice, he really wins EVERYTHING.
So now I get to play it (un)cool while we meet the band. Pretty sure I have lots of things I can chit chat with them about. My Mom mentioned that I could tell them I have an Aunt named Molly, good point Mom. I also thought I could maybe show them my goiter.
I could also tell them about catheters, share a strong drink with them, ask if I can see under their kilt, tell them I'm a Mormon.
It's gonna be a party, let's just leave it at that.
So let the fun begin!
PS. I have never been to "In the Venue" which is downtown. I just read a review on it, it stated something to the effect of "no crowd control, dont come here unless you want to get your face bashed in during the mosh." Totally my scene. Let us pray that I don't pass out......cuz thats what happened at the last concert I went to. Remember? I lost my left shoe, still bugged about it.

So Blessed.....

It has been only 6 days since Blake's graduation, and he has already received 3 offers for great jobs. While it stresses me OUT hearing his phone interviews, which involve math and other nonsense that I can't even comprehend, I feel so blessed to have a husband who works hard and has all of these job offers coming his way. It's stressful deciding which route to go, but I'm sure thankful that my Heavenly Father has helped us out soooooooo much throughout the 2 years that Blake and I have been married.
Happy 2nd Anniversary Blake!!!!!
(It was May 2nd, but I forgot to post anything on here!)
