Workout Part Deux

Workout Update: Remember how a few weeks ago I said I was going to start working out? Well that started last night, I got a little behind. No pun intended. So anywho, I decided to whip out my Kick-A Slim in 6 videos that have the 3 different levels of dvd's; Start it Up, Ramp it Up, and the last one I don't recall because I have never been motivated enough to do it. So last night I did the mid-level Ramp it Up workout, which is like the Start it Up workout but with a boob job. Weird enough, today I'm not that sore. Maybe I just didn't work out hard enough, or maybe I am that amazing. Tonight I am going to do it again. Two days in a row........ I don't believe it either. I remember the days when I was single and would go to work, go to the gym for 2 hours, and then go to sleep. After some major clubbing at the Big Easy in Lehi. Just kidding. But seriously, since I got married how often do I work out? I do the occasional run or bike ride in the summer but it has seriously gone waaaaay down. I cannot wait until summer arrives. No class, and all the time in the world to get my bootaaay into shape. Hallelujah!
(Guess which one I am?
I'm the charcoaled one in the middle with a mustache. But seriously.)

Finally the Weekend!

I cannot even begin to express how in need I am of the quickly approaching weekend. Besides the fact that my weekend is going to begin with a Microbiology test this afternoon, I am quite excited for the remainder of it. Blake and I always celebrate my test taking with a trip to the Brick Oven so that I can get my beloved salad bar, that I once upon a time.. enjoyed on a daily basis. Oh how working in Provo paid off in that respect. Although a test is not my favorite thing, it somehow makes you extremely happy afterwards, and that my friends is a superb way to start off a weekend. And to add to all this excitement, tomorrow we are having a shower for Vanessa and her new baby girl Chloe. So I get to see lots of friends and family that we rarely get to see! At this point in time, many of you are probably wondering how it is that my weekend could be so grandiose. I know, it's mind-bottling. So with all of this nonsense said, I hope each and every one of you have a great weekend and don't forget to go to church. And brush yer teef. As Blake would say. Adios!

PS. If you see Blake, please be gentle with him. While I was in class last night, Blake decided to enter a National Racquetball Competition at UVU, in which he won. Actually, it was just him and his lab partner Adam playing but I am told that Blake was diving, yelling, inflicting injuries on others, etc in his attempts to victory. Today you will find him bruised, floor burned, and feeble. Hope it was worth it Blake, glad you took out your lab partner.

K.. The picture isn't really Blake, thank goodness. I don't enjoy ball shorts. But this guys ninja skills are worth documenting.

Back from Heaven....

We finally returned from our big adventure! We had a great time, and did so much all in just 4 days. We started the vacation off with a little hiking in St. George, hence the big crack pictures. Blake is inside that crack and I was taking pictures from the top! Too scary for me! Then we played some tennis with the 3 yayhoos pictured above, Dylan, Jaden and Morgan. It was a great time, and so nice to finally get some sun! Afterwards we hit the town with Landy and Suzette. I didnt get a picture, what the heck. But we went to Pizza Factory and to TJ Maxx, Woo love it! Landon found a beautiful shimmery pink wallet that he wanted to buy but luckily we talked him out of it =)

Thursday we headed out to Vegas for a night, where we enjoyed walking and walking and walking all over the place. I have the blisters to prove it. =) We had the bright idea to get an all day pass to the Nascar rollercoaster so we road that 4 or 5 times, I think Blake screamed louder than me. Definitely. =) Thanks to a local, we found a great hidden sushi spot called Sushi Mon, we ate their Thursday night and then woke up bright and early to hit the Outlets in Vegas! Where Blake got a bunch of treats, including the Sham Wow as advertised on TV. Haha I on the other hand, found nothing. So pathetic.

Then we whizzed back to St. George, got some great Mexican food at Pancho and Lefty's and headed out to a surprise that I had planned for Blake. We went to Tuacahn and saw "The Nashville Tribute to Joseph Smith." You can read more about it on their website http://www.nasvhilletributeband.com/. It's a great cd that we both love so I thought it would be a fun surprise and a nice way to repent for all of our shenanigans in Vegas. Just kidding. But it ended up being soooo AMAZING! It was funny because Blake kept trying to guess who we were seeing. He started with Gary Allen, then Tim Mgraw, then perhaps Offspring. For awhile he was positive it was Kalai. Then he started to notice that it was all old people pulling up to park, I said to him "Notice all the old people here?" haha I could tell he was getting worried. Then he changed his mind and thought for sure we were going to see George Jones and said "My Dad is going to be sooooo jealous!" I just kept laughing. Finally I handed him the brochure as we walked in, we both agreed it was one of the best concerts we have been to! Don't make fun of us.

We just want to thank the Rawlings for letting us stay there and for making us amazing Cafe Rio! We sure love you guys and had a great time with you! Even you Landy. =)

VACAYYYYYYYTION.

It's official, today is the day that our vacation begins! Well later today of course. After work we are hittin' the road to the ever-so-warm-like St. George, Uuuuuuutah.
And I can't wait.
Our plans include the following: play a little tennis, tan our pasty whiteness, hike a little (little being the key word, just kidding Blake!), spend a night in Vegas, and RELAX everywhere else in between!
I have a few tricks up my sleeve planned that Blake doesn't know about, so I can't wait! I have my camera charged and ready to go so I'll be sure to capture every moment, well maybe not every moment... but most of them =) wink wink.
I already bought me a festive Vegas outfit too, with sequence and tassles. Or not. Hope you all have a great week, at work, and I'll be thinking of you while I'm out partying! woowoo. Adios amigos.

Shred.

The last time I went snowboarding the conversation went as follows:

Emily: "Blake are you sure this is a good idea?"
Blake: "Em, we did this every winter as kids, you'll love it."

15 minutes later.

Emily: "What the f*** were you thinking taking me down this!"
Blake: "......"

Blake's Dad: "Hahaaaaaaaaaa." On the other side of the valley, in his warm car. (Don't worry, he later apologized haha )

Emily: No words, just crying.

Blake: "I'm sorry Em"
Emily: "Do you think those people that are down there driving by with snowmobiles will save us?"

Blake"....."

After 3 hours of what crazy people call "mountain boarding," aka walking out of waist deep snow in schofield, I had said more F words in my head than I could account for. My husband only heard one of them, which I strongly believe had more gusto than all of the other ones in my head put together.

Tomorrow we are venturing out to Brighton, this will be the first time I have set foot on a board since that last blustery day in hell. Please pray for me, I think my innards are begging me not to go, but alas my prideful ways must prove Schofield's wretched ways wrong. I will take pictures. For your enjoyment, not mine.

P.S. I normally don't say f words.

So Hot.

Today I received this picture from my husband. He whipped up some General Tsao chicken after school. How hot is that? It is spicy. My husband, not the dish. It's so nice having another half who can fend for himself, cuz heaven knows I never have time to cook these days.
Here is the final showing. He eloquently added a little rice, and of course some edamame.
Padma's palette would be proud. Palet, Pallet. However it's spelled.
You're hot Blake.

I must also mention that today Blake called me to let me know that he didnt flip anyone off on the whole way home from school. Super! He has come up with 2 very clever alternatives.

First one: if someone gets right on your rear on the freeway, all you have to do is turn your windshield wipers on for a good 30 seconds. This works especially well with recently cleaned cars, as the water from your wipers gushes nicely onto their window. Be prepared for a look from hell as they pass you at wreckless speeds. A smile, and perhaps a wave, is the proper response.

Second alternative: If you are being followed too closely by someone in a very nice car, simply have patience until you can get inadvertently behind them at a stoplight. At that point get as close to their bumper as your heart will allow. Most new cars have that alarm thing if anything gets too close to their rear bumper. The person in the car will have to pull forward a little to get their annoying little alarm to stop beeping, keep repeating this until they slide gently into oncoming traffic. Then pull around them. You can smile on this one, but I don't know if I would chance the wave.

Happy Thursday dearies.

Mary Kay Me.

So last night Jenny, and my Mom and I, all got to attend one of Mandy's fabulous Mary Kay parties. We had a blast, Jenny even won a free makeover. What the heck! She always wins.... don't take her anywhere where there is a prize to be won, because she will surely win it. And you will not. Anywho, after the party Jenny and I decided that we need to start our own Makeup business, to sort of battle the all powerful Mary Kay. And it's delightfully going to be called "Mary Kay, & Ashley, makeup." On one provision, that I get to be Mary Kay, she is stuck being Ashley. She said it's a deal. Then I proceeded to eat a Lemon Cookie. Which I thought about the rest of the evening with regret. As I traveled home from this exquisite party, I called my husband who was at home enjoying our couch. We discussed my future Mary Kay, & Ashley, plans and he said he will have none of it as he is starting his own makeup company. He said he is taking it to the streets. Like blackmarket makeup. It's going to be called 'Special K'. I quickly understood that Jenny and I stood no chance. Guess I'll stick to dancing in the night for that extra cash. Yet another dream shattered.
Hope you all are having a superb week. Tonight is poop night in Lab, I will update you tomorrow. Oray-vwah.

PS. Cheer Up Emo Kids.

New Week.

Woooooo. I'm so glad it's a new week. And I don't really know why, because it's just another week. I think it's the fact that my tests are over for a couple weeks, that will put a skip in your step. I really just said that.
So I'm taking work off March 19th and 20th for Spring Break and I'm totally stumped on what to do with the Hubby. We were debating on going to Mesquite for that $99 getaway package at Casablanca. But that's only for one night and then who knows what to do after that night is over. Head to Vegas? Sounds good to me, but do I really wanna spend that much fundage. I feel like booking a week long cruise and going big with the idea. But that's simply nonsense going on in my brain. If anyone has any fairly cheap vacation ideas to offer, you just send them my way. I need a WARM vacation asap. Gratzi.
P.s. Why can't Lagoon be Open? The fun starts there huh Blake. Yep.
