Merry Christmas!!

I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone!!! We had an amazing break for Christmas, it was so nice having 4 days off with Blake for once. It's been a long time since that has happened! This year we were able to venture to Price before Christmas day which was really fun. We ate lots of good food at the Wilde home, and opened lots of presents together. It was fun spending time with everyone and we couldn't believe the nice weather we had all weekend. I was wishing for some snow though!

On Christmas Eve, Blake and I ventured off to Red Robin at the District, and then we went and saw "True Grit." It was pretty entertaining, more so than I thought and of course Blake loved it so that was good =) After the movie we attempted to drive around to see some lights, but the fog was not going to let that happen! So we went home, turned on Christmas Vacation and frosted lots of sugar cookies..... Blake loved that part.

Christmas day was spent eating, eating, and more eating, and of course opening a bunch of really nice presents. Blake spoiled me with a new camera, a new purse, some cd's/dvds, clothes, and lots of other goodies. He did too much! And I gave him some new tools, yankees attire (of course), a new Yankees wallet, a hummingbird feeder, a new ice fishing auger, and a few games/cds. We were also really excited to get a new popcorn machine for our downstairs, and an old fashion ice cream maker as well! Those will be nice additions to our new pad =) Party on I say!

It's always fun to get so many nice presents, and like every other year I felt overwhelmed at how much my family and I are really blessed with. This year was a great reminder for me of what Christmas should be about. Not the presents, or how much money is spent, but a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior and remember him. It really hit me hard this year that the best part of Christmas is spending time with family and thinking of our Savior who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. The presents, they are always nice, but I hope that next year I can try to focus more on what's important in life and do something to show my Savior how grateful I am for him.Merry Christmas everyone!

FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!!!!!

Tis true my friends, I am officially a free woman. From school that is. I finished my last test today and even busted out a 90%. It's called a Christmas Miracle. Now I get to enjoy party after party to celebrate! Tonight consists of a delicious dinner with the cuzzo Hill and Gavin, tomorrow night Avtec Christmas Party at Market Street, Saturday night Gingerbread House making with the Pugh/Karr/Wilde Kiddies and the rentals, and Sunday's the Big Bateman Bash!!! I can hardly wait for all of the fun yet to be had. And to top it all off I'm getting my nails done tomorrow, my hair did Saturday and a delectible massage Tuesday. Really, I have nothing left to complain about. The only thing left on my to do list is bake sugar cookies, eat tons of food, and make a Christmas list for the hubster. However I do know one thing I'm wishing for.....
Sike! Maybe.

Hate it. Period.

The ever-so-dreadful week of finals is vastly approaching and I am not excited about it. I have 2 huge comprehensive tests to study for, yet have no idea how to study for such massive satanic-ness. I would love to be enjoying December, frolicking amongst the Christmas lights at Temple Square and ice skating my little heart out somewhere festive, however... I am stuck with my nose in the books and see no end in sight. Actually the end will be next Thursday at noon, when I finally finish my hellacious last test, but thats not the point. Right now I am miserable. And that is all.

Freezing Turkey Christmas Balls.

This year we had a great Thanksgiving holiday with the Rawlings clan! I wasn't able to get a ton of pictures unfortunately, but as soon as I get a few of them downloaded I will post them! We spent alot of time talking and laughing all weekend, and of course had a ton of great food! Some of the other fun things we did included shopping, shopping shopping, and the girls got to see Burlesque while the men watched the Utah vs BYU game. (Booooo that game!)
But one of my favorite parts of the weekend was freezing my mistletoes offfffffffffff at RC Willey on Black Friday! I convinced my cousins Dylan and Chadley to escort me there since I was leaving at 3am and had to sit outside of RC Willey until they opened at 8am. So we got in the warmest clothes we could find and ventured to Orem. The best part was, right when we got there I realized that I left all of the blankets home. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay for me! So I dropped the men off to save our spot in line (we were in the top 20 people I would say) and I raced back to Lehi to steal some blankets from my parent's house. I was so glad to find that the guys hadn't froze to death in the 45 minutes that they had been waiting for my return. So we nestled in close to each other and waited, and waited and waited......... I think the St. George boys experienced a whole new form of COLD. =) But I was able to get my awesome new kitchen table and chairs, and a sexy new 6 piece bedroom set. I saved about 2000 dollars, even though I lost a couple phalanges in the process. Thanks to Dilly and Chad for being such great pals!!! And thanks to the Rawlings clan for venturing up here in snow to celebrate. I love you all! Here is my hot new table, the best part is, it has a leaf that flips up in the middle when you want to seat 8. So I can have 6 kids now and we will be set! Ill get a table for the other 6 when I have them. Of course.
And my bedroom is on backorder so it shall be delivered in a week or two. Thank you RC Willey! I shall never forget freezing off my Turkey Christmas Balls all morning just for you.

Push Harder.

(I bet he never has this problem.)
Last night Blake and I went to see the Trans Siberian Orchetra at ESA. It was intense. Apart from the hair flipping, which every musician insisted on doing every 15 seconds, it was a flippin' party.
I didn't know that men who participated in Christmas Rock and Roll music had hit the big time enough to hump their guitars and wear lace shirts with their nips exposed. It was quite the entertainment.

With that said, and don't get me wrong the music was adequate, the light show was ahhhhhhhhh-mazing. I took some sweet nectar video footage which I will post soon, as in tomorrow or the next day when I have the time. But really the highlight of the night was the drive home.

Blake (as he keeps sniffing really hard with no air going through either nostril): "I can't breathe. My nose is always plugged up."
(snooooooooooooort, no air again. Sounds like a nose flute.)

Emily: "Maybe we need to get you in to see an ear, nose, and throat doctor. Something has got to be wrong."

Blake: "I dunno, I have had it ever since I can remember. I can't breathe through my nose most the time."

Emily: "Maybe you need that deviated septum surgery. I wonder how far up your nose holes go. Shove both of your pinkies up your nose and let's see if one goes farther."

Blake shoves both pinkies in his nostrils, while driving. I'm not sure who was steering at that moment. But neither pinkie made it to the first bend.

Emily: "Is that really as far as you can go? Push harder."

Blake (in his angry nasal voice): "They won't go any further, I have huge pinkies."

Then he pulled them out and we continued the drive home.
Now if that's not a romantic date night I'm not sure what is. All I know is my nursing school is sure paying off. I can pretty much get anyone to do anything I say when it comes to health issues.
Including shoving huge pinkies up both nostrils.
While driving.
