Smarty Pants Hottie McWilde.

My hot husband is currently half way through his last day of school.....FOREVER! I say forever, but he may go back to get his masters in the future, however for right now we are saying he is done for FOREVER! Because that sure feels good to say!!
I am so proud of him, he has had the busiest schedule the past few semesters taking 20+ credits so that he could finish quicker. Some days he has been stuck at school from 10am-10pm, and yet he never complains! Graduation is this Friday and I can't wait to give him his presents.
I love you Blake and I'm so proud & excited for you! Woowoo.

So many Reasons...

Yesterday was my birthday, I turned the dreaded 26.
For a day that I was completely dreading, it sure turned out to be wonderful.
Lots of reasons made it wonderful, here's a condensed list of those reasons:
I woke up to a Birthday card taped to my front door with instructions on how I would be getting multiple surprises throughout the day.
What a creative husband I have.
My first clue took me to my car, where I found a new license plate cover. Why that cover was broken, and needed to be replaced, will remain a mystery.
Because I said so. =)
I then ventured to school, where my entire pharmacology class sang to me, oy. And one of my nursing friends surprised me with a gift, how nice is that.
After school I headed in to work, not so excited to be honest.
However my awesome work friends surprised me with a decorated desk, with all the trimmings.
And the amazing company I work for gave me gorgeous flowers, a gift certificate to Market Street Grill, and a $100 Visa to buy whatever makes me happy.
Oh what a great day at work. =)
At 5:30 I ventured home to find a hot husband sitting in my living room, which had been decorated from head to toe.
Balloons, streamers, signs, you name it. It was there.
He handed me my next clue.
Which said: "Sometimes you use me to relax, sometimes you use me to workout, with the push of a button anything is possible."
After realizing he wasnt referring to himself, I found a gift certificate to Forever 21 in our DVD Player, wahoo!
I then was told that my next clue was inside of a balloon.
My entire floor was covered in balloons. So I grabbed knife and began the popping extravaganza.
After popping 99% of them I found my clue, how he arranged those balloons in such a way that it took me popping every one of them, was quite ingenious.
My husband the graduate. (1 week woo!)
I eventually found Super Mario Bros for the Wii in my tennis bag.
A fog-horn behind the TV.
FYI....I told Blake if ever he decides to change our babies names during their baby blessing, I will sound a foghorn in Sacrament meeting and walk out.
Thanks for providing me a foghorn for such measures. Jax got a kick out of it anyways.
After those clues we headed to my parents house for Pizza and cake.
Everyone gave me such nice gifts. Gift card to Nordstrom, a digital picture frame for my desk, & $$$$$$. ohhhh lala. It was wonderful.
I love my family so much.
Just before we left to come home Blake told me there were still a couple clues left to my next presents. Next presents? I thought I was done!
However I found an Ipod in my trunk, which unbeknownst to me had been driving around with me ALL day =)
And when I got home, my last present was an Ipod cover to keep it safe from harm.
Sheeeeesh, I dont know what I did to deserve such a great husband and family but I sure am grateful.
I guess 26 is already looking up for me =)
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes, you all helped me have one AMAZING BIRTHDAY!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Today was the day I have been stressing about since the start of Nursing School!!!
"Pass-Offs" were today.
Which means we were given 4 different patient scenarios to prepare for, throughout the last few weeks, and then we are randomly assigned to 'pass-off' one of them in front of a professor.
For example, the scenario I ended up getting was the following:
'Cassandra Bullock (June 3, 1972) is a 37-year-old woman who had an L2-L4
discectomy and fusion yesterday evening. It has been 10 hours since she last
voided urine, so there is now an order to insert a straight-catheter and leave it in if there is more than 750cc’s of urine output. She has been receiving Toradol IM
every 6 hours, which is due to be administered soon. She has also requested to be
logrolled onto her side for comfort.'
This morning I didn't have my scheduled Pass-Off until 10:30am, but I was up at 7 feeling the stress in full-i-want-to-barf-mode. I forced myself to go to Einsteins Bagel for some early morning deliciousness, and then I made my way over to the school to increase the stress level. When I got to school the Nursing halls were filled with other fellow nursing students who looked like they were going to vomit as well. We took turns asking questions and stressing each other out, until before I knew it, it was 10:30am. Which meant at any moment a professor would walk out and say "Emily, you're with me, let's go."
And just as I believed it would happen, out walked Gretchen, the professor that I barely know. However she turned out to be so great, I was able to pass off the catheter, pain med injection, and logrolling procedure without much help, and anything I may have forgotten, Gretchen kindly prompted me by saying things like "Oh whats this bracelet on my wrist?" Oh yes, I needed to check the medication against her name and date of birth located on the bracelet =)
So for being the day that I dreaded since the beginning of time, it turned out to be a success and one that I am most proud of! Each semester we will be doing "Pass-Offs" so I guess I better get used to the stress. But it sure is nice to know that I can do caths now, and roll people over in beds. Haha yessssss. So Happy day! Now home to enjoy American Idol, and some type of unhealthy food, to celebrate!
And remember folks.....

Day 1.

It's official..... today I am beginning the dreaded D-word that I love. DIET. But I'm not going to call it that or I will end up hating it by tomorrow. It's going to be called the Do-It. Oh I'm clever. I'm really not calling it that, I just couldnt come up with anything else clever in the moment. Blake and I have decided that starting April 30th, which is Blake's Graduation day that we are going to start a delicious workout regimen. And since I already feel really blah about myself from not working out lately, I decided I would preface that workout regimen with a diet. Cuz honestly, I dont think I can wait until April 30th to start working on myself. It needs to start now. I have hit my sugar/carb limit and with all of this scrub-wearing that's beginning to happen I refuse to put on the Nurse 15. So come summer time, when neither of us have school bogging us down, our sweaty side is going to emerge. Goodbye thunderthighs, I will not miss you. So in true fitness fashion, we took some before and (hopefully) after pictures to track our progress:
Before
During: lots of yelling and anger from lack of food. Blake will be confused. After: I'm pretty sure one of these is a female.Let the fun begin! Oyvay.
