Party of a Weekend

Well we made it through another busy week my friends. It was our last week of fun before heading back to school this Wednesday, so we had to make it great. Thursday night I could tell my husband was pooped from all this summer working, so I had a picnic ready for us to take up Butterfield Canyon behind our house. We bbq'd our little hearts out, it was a great break from our busy week! My work had our annual Lagoon Day Friday so Jen, my Dad, and the two little boys, spent a half day there. Unfortunately Blake couldnt get off work, such a responsible fellow he is, but it was flaming hot and the kiddy lines were ridiculously long/sweaty. So I think it probably worked out for the best that Blake wasn't stuck there. Jax loved all the rides, it was quite surprising since it was his first time seeing a rollercoaster. He just couldnt get enough! However he quickly realized what lines were, and wasn't exactly a big fan of the whole idea. Near the end of the day Jax decided to strip down to his new big boy underwear, which is precisely when we decided it was probably a good idea to go home and cool off. After Lagoon, Blake and I went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and found ourselves at Jordan River Parkway where they had an outdoor showing of Wall-E going. We lasted about 10 minutes before we were eaten alive and decided the basement apartment in which we currently reside, sounded like a much better idea. We fell asleep on our blow up mattress in the living room, pretty romantic eh =) Saturday we woke up early and went to the Marath kids' b-day party and then we ventured off to UVU to spend our life savings on books. That was delicious. Luckily we thought of a great idea to follow that torture and spent the rest of the afternoon at Daybreak Lakes lounging and swimming. We ended the weekend with a hot and sweaty filled Bees Game. It was sold out by the way, why do people get so excited over fireworks these days? It's craziness. But we were happy to attend the Temple Dedication today and spend the evening at the music in the park in Lehi. A great end to a sweet/busy summer, I must say. So here's to the new school year, let us all get A's and, if needed, provide lap dances to our professors in order to do so. Sayanara folks!
